Sunset Kids exists to make disciples of children through caring and nurturing the next generation of believers as they are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3-5). We are dedicated to supporting parents as they endeavor to train their children to walk in a way that honors and glorifies God (Proverbs 22:6). We believe that partnering together is the best way to help children grow in their faith.
We offer biblical instruction for children during the first service hour, and we encourage families to bring their kids at this time so they can enjoy meaningful teaching and fellowship together.
During the second service hour, childcare is available and lovingly provided for all ages.
Sprouts Kids Ministry (Nursery-5th Grade)

WHERE?
We invite you to participate in our Kids Ministry programs, which take place in the CE building located at 3635 Lawton. The CE building is conveniently situated across the street from our Worship Sanctuary. When you bring your children, please use the left-side door entrance with a glass window/door. Our dedicated staff of helpers will be readily available to provide assistance from that point onward.
OUR PROGRAMS
Your children's safety and security are our top priority. Our check-in staff and system are here to serve you and your kids efficiently and effectively. On Sundays, we provide the following programs for kids:

Birth to 24-month-old little ones are cared for by gentle and caring nursery team members who play, read, and sing with them.

Kids 3-4 years old are taught by our faithful and loving team of dedicated teachers. Your toddlers can expect snacks, fun play, songs, and hear Bible stories!

Elementary-age students enjoy play and recreation while learning about the centrality of Jesus in the Bible and in life. They also will enjoy games, toys, Bible stories, spiritual growth, videos, and music!
Drop-Off:
Talk with a helper at the computer stations (at the entrance) and we will gather basic contact information.
After checking in your children, they will have free-play time, worship, and break off into classrooms for bible lessons.
First Time Visitors
Pick-Up:
Please pick up your child at the same entrance as when checked in.
Please wait behind the sign, give the label code to the helper at the computer, and wait until your child’s name is called out.

Children’s Ministry volunteers are background checked and trained to care for children. Volunteers undergo a thorough review of safety and security policies annually and are coached on how to respond in emergency situations.

When registering your child on Sunday Morning, you may choose to include information on the child’s allergies on your child’s name tag. Please ask a volunteer for help when registering your child.

We follow the SFUSD guidelines and masks are optional, but recommended.

Sunset’s Nursery provides snacks and water for your child during services. If your child has allergies please bring snacks for your child.
If you are dropping off your infant, please bring a bottle with ready-made formula or milk and a diaper bag with diapers, a top, pants, socks, a pacifier, and bib. Please label all items with your child’s name.

The Well-Child Policy is a way to keep a safe and healthy environment at Sunset Church. We cannot accept children with a cold, fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea, or any other signs of illness.

Children can join the preschool program when they are potty-trained and able to communicate. If the preschool teacher assesses that the child is not ready for preschool class, he/she may have the child stay in the Nursery until the next promotion (Feb or Sept).
